Growth

There are days when I look at my sweet baby boy and realize that he has changed. I'm talking about physically looking bigger overnight. How does that happen? Today, I looked at Hunter as he ran past me and thought that he looks so big. He is taller. He looks older, less like a baby and more like a big boy. I don't get it! I see him every day. How can my baby change before my eyes?

Also, H has been promoted to the Toddler class in Sunday School! Oh my! He looked so big in there playing with the big kids. What a fun and blessed time in the Holloway house.

Welcome Wyatt

This is our new friend Wyatt Griffin Holloway. He is a sweet, shy little mutt (blue heeler/terrier mix). We adopted him today from the Morris Shelter, a very nice safehouse for dogs. He has gotten along well with all of the dogs and Hunter today. He seems to have a very quiet, sweet spirit. He just clicked with our family. He even took Hunter for a walk while we were filling out paper work! Ha! While looking at the dogs, he and I just connected, for lack of a better word. We can't wait to introduce him to our friends and family. Just another of God's blessings in our life.

Kiss Me, I'm (a little) Irish

Happy St. Patrick's Day members of the Hunter fan club!

We are l-o-v-i-n-g Spring Break. The weather has been beeeautiful! H and I are just hanging out, running errands, doing some spring cleaning, etc. Yesterday, while waiting for our taxi to come pick us up (aka Granna) because I hadn't been cleared to drive yet, Hunter, Dixie, and I spent a little time outside. FYI, I have the most handsome young man around. He looked like the cutest little man in the whole world! I'm no fashionista, but I must say, he looked pretty sharp! I love my job for this reason, I get these little breaks to spend with my kiddo. Happy Spring Break friends. I pray it is blessed for each of you, just as we feel so blessed here at the Holloway house.

When did my baby turn in to a little boy?!

Some Hunter Updates:
*Words: Uh-oh, Up, Poppa, Daddy, Dixie, yes, please (mostly signs, but signs "cheese" instead of please, whatever, he's communicating. I know what he means!)
*Hunter loves to dance (he does a great happy dance, has started a new washing the hair type move, and has started spinning. He doesn't get his moves from his momma!)
*He loves cars. He rides his rider/pusher car around the house making car noises. Very cute. He likes playing with his garage, especially now that he has seen his big friend Talyn do it.
*He loves phones. Anytime Jimmy is home, Hunter has his phone. He carries it around and talks on it. He knows how to make it light up. He knows a real phone from a fake because he knows how to turn all of the lights on. He has made several accidental phone calls. He puts cars, shoes, his cup, etc., up to his ear and says "hello" (well, I'm sure that what he's saying! Ha!) and laughs. He has the BEST laugh in the entire world.
*He loves playing with anything and everything that he is not supposed to: dog food, the remote to the massage chair, picture frames, the tv remote (for some reason, it always ends up on QVC when he grabs the remote. I don't get it!), and the doggy door (some day he is going to actually go through it, I'm certain!)
*He loves to eat. The kid loves his veggies and sweets! He gets so excited at meal time. Someday I will get a picture of his excited face. It's hilarious! He has also figured out how to open the pantry and has gotten himself a snack once or twice. I guess it is time to baby proof the pantry! I'm afraid that means mommy proofing it too!
*The kid runs everywhere! It's tough keeping up.

Helping pull weeds. (Yes, Dixie is wearing a pretty green scarf. She didn't want to get pinched!)

Was Blind but Now I See!

It has been an interesting weekend at the Holloway house. Friday, I had laser correction done on my eyes. (Please excuse any typos, my vision is still a little cloudy). I slept for about 3 hours Friday afternoon. FYI, Hunter has a pretty cool daddy who kept him quiet and played with him so I could rest. I felt pretty good, vision was pretty blurry. I put my cool goggles back on and went back to bed about 11. Valium + Vicodin+ Really good sleep!

Saturday, I woke up and saw the clock for the first time since I was about 5. What an amazing feeling! I felt okay, until I got in the sunlight, in the house, with the blinds closed. So, I scrambled Hunter and egg and made him some toast in the dark, with my cool, medical sunglasses on. Jimmy and Hunter took me to my check-up. Everything looked good. . . irritation was normal (like sand in my eyes! Ouch!). . . Light sensitivity normal (but not fun). . . blurry vision is normal. I went home and H and I took a good nap.

Our good friends Todd, Tiffany, Talyn (and Tatum coming in May) came to LBK to see us and some other friends. I was definitely not the hostess with the mostest. It felt best when my eyes were closed, so I think I slept awhile Saturday. We did meet them for lunch at Fazoli's. You know you have good friends who don't mind being in public with you with absolutely no make-up on.

Sunday, I thought we might make it to church, but my eyes wouldn't stay open in the light. Yikes! The feeling of something stuck in my eyes was gone, but wow! who knew the light was so bright in our house! More sleeping on Sunday. We did go out to a great dinner at Red Lobster though. Yummy!

Today was a much much better day. Light sensitivity almost gone, no irritation, just a little cloudy vision. Still no make-up. Ran errands with mom and Aunt Sassy and Hunter. I go back to the Dr. tomorrow for a check-up and hopefully to get my bandage contacts out. Thank you for your prayers. If you see me, please don't be frightened! Ha!

Mr. H has been a trooper through this all. He thinks my goggles are quite funny. I have to wear them any time I sleep or play with him. I tell you what, God gave us the happiest kid in the world. He laughs and smiles all of the time.

Our Sweet Oscar Bob

How we love you and miss you our sweet boy.

Last Saturday, our time with our first baby ended. Oscar was diagnosed with cancer in October 2007. After surgery, he gave us another 16 months. We miss him every day. Our lives just won't be the same without you Bob.
