4 Months

Hunter went to the doctor for his four month check up last week. According to his doctor, he is perfect. Mr. H is quite the charmer. He flirted with the nurses . He smiled and laughed and won everyone over. One nurse commented several times how handsome he is. All I could do is agree! He is a handsome devil! He now weighs in at 13 lbs. 3 oz. and is 25 inches tall. Poor baby did great during his shots. He screamed for a second but as soon as Momma came to the rescue, the world was better. We missed Daddy at this appointment, but he was having fun in Nashville. Next time, Momma and Mr. H get to go too hopefully!

Hunter started cereal last weekend. He is doing pretty good with it. Of course, there is as much on his face as there is in his mouth! He likes to try to help by grabbing the spoon from Momma. This is still a work in progress. We are figuring it out together. He is growing up so fast! I can't believe he is already 4 months old. About 2 weeks ago, Hunter rolled over for the first time. What a huge blessing that this happened while I was home. I don't want to miss his firsts. I just sat and cried, then ran and got the camera. Of course, he wouldn't do it again for the camera. It took several attempts to get him to roll over for the camera. Of course, his Momma's his biggest cheerleader! Here's a video of Hunter doing his newest trick for all of the people who love him. Yes, he is precious!

Mr. H's laugh is amazing. Everyday he keeps us smiling. His laugh is just contagious! I love it more than words can say. This evening, Hunter and Daddy were inside spending some quality time together and I was in the office. All of a sudden, I heard a sound that would melt any momma's heart. Hunter was laughing as loud as he could at his silly daddy. I couldn't help but smile and laugh with him, even from the other room. We'll video this soon so everyone can enjoy the greatness of Hunt's wonderful little laugh. He is a joy!!!!!

Hunter is growing like a weed. He is just as precious as ever and loved to pieces. Here are some highlights from Hunter at 3 months. I fell a little behind!

Hunter got a taggies rattle for Easter. It provides him great entertainment. He loves the mirror especially. He has a mirror over his changing table and lets Momma know if he can't see it.
Hunter got a walker at Granna's house. It has Pooh toys on it. The kid is so smart!! He loves to spin the Tigger ball and move the little knobby balls up and down. He likes anything that he can spin and lights up. It provides a few minutes of free time for mom and dad. He loves sitting up. He's trying to do it on his own now. The other day, he was sitting in his vibrating chair while momma was getting ready and he reached out, grabbed the corner of the wall and tried to pull himself up. Of course, he was seatbelted in and couldn't go anywhere, but he sure tried. Our little man also loves standing up. Here he is standing by himself holding on to the couch cushion. If he is in our laps, he would rather be standing than lying down. He's got strong little legs! It's so cute to see someone so tiny standing up!

Hunter went to his first birthday party a few weeks ago. We celebrated Kamber's second birthday at the Science Spectrum. Well, Mr. H is a party pooper. He didn't quite make it through the party. He crashed about the time we got cake and ice cream. What a silly kid!
More to come when I can type better and someone isn't kicking my keyboard shelf in every two seconds! I'll tell you all about the start of 4 months. Have I mentioned how blessed we are?

New Toy

Hunter really enjoys his new bouncy seat. It sings and lights up. He can sit there and be happy for quite awhile. The lights really hold his attention (he likes the tv screen and computer because of the lights too)! As you can see, his feet don't quite touch the ground yet, but we're getting close! He bops his head and moves around enough to make the music go though. Sometimes, his arms fall into the hole, but he doesn't seem to mind. Thank you Theresa for the bouncy! It's a lot of fun and a life saver for mom!

We love Bath Time

When Hunter was brand new he HATED bath time. He would scream and carry on. (I can't believe how tiny he was!) I didn't want to give him a bath because it made him so unhappy! Now. . .. . . He LOVES bath time. He gets in his tub and gets really relaxed at first (and often pees!). He loves to kick his feet and smile. His tub has a "shower head" attachment, which we love! He sits there until all the water is gone. We sing lots of songs while we bathe. The bath time song is the old hymn "What Can Wash Away our Sins". Then we sing other songs that pop into mom's mind. After bath time, we dry off and immediately come give daddy "clean sugars". Then we put on our diaper and jammys and rock for a little while. It is such a precious time. I look forward to bath time!

Splish Splash! H loves kicking in the bath tub!
We have found our hands in the last month. It is a common occurrence to see Mr. H with his hands in his mouth. We can usually tell how tired he is by the number of fingers he has shoved into his mouth. He can get all four in if he really tries. This is his self-soothing technique. I will often look at him and he is sleeping with his two middle fingers in his mouth. His daddy would be proud because it looks like he is giving a "Hook Em Horns" sign, but you could also say that his Poppa would be proud because he is eating a longhorn. The interpretation is up for grabs!

We have got the silliest, happiest kid in the whole world. We are so blessed!

Happy Easter

We went to Arlington for Hunter's first Easter (14 wks). What a joy to spend time with family! Hunter's Mimi and Papa love him more than words can say and cherish every second with our little man. We got to spend more time than usual down there this time so we were able to get it lots of quality time! Daddy was sick with a sinus infection so he isn't in many pictures.
Uncle Daniel got to spend lots of time with Mr. H. Hunter was asleep when Daniel came in. When he woke up, Mimi took him and sat down to Uncle Dan. As soon as Hunter saw him, that bottom lip popped out and here came the tears! Of course, we had to laugh about it. After Hunter ate and woke up a little, he was much nicer to Daniel. Hunter loves his uncles, even if he is a little scared at first! (Our child is not always naked! He has become a big time drooler and his shirts are always wet, so we were letting him air out a little. He's our little stud muffin!)Mimi sure does love Mr. H. Hunter spent a lot of time hanging out in the kitchen while Mimi cooked. We wish Hunter could spend more time with his Mimi and Papa. They are absolutely in love with our cutie pie. (Who isn't!) Mimi got to hold Hunter during the Easter service at church. You could see the pride on her face! He was so good and quiet! The lady behind us commented on how well behaved Hunter was (and also how handsome he was. I have to admit, he looked quite dapper in his plaid overalls!) I was so glad he decided not to talk in the middle of the service. He has become quite the chatter box in the last week. He tells all kinds of stories, especially if he isn't getting the attention he wants! He doesn't use his quiet voice either! Hunter watched his cousin Joshua hunt Easter eggs at Mimi and Papa's house. I can't imagine how much fun he will be this time next year when he can find his own eggs!

Hunter and I drove to Grapevine to meet Alysia, Becky, and Miss Jorja for lunch at Cracker Barrel. What a blessing to have lifelong friends! Poor Miss J had an ear infection so she wasn't feeling too hot. Sharing life with these girls is one of my joys. We missed Holly though! They are true girlfriends (snap!) I was so proud for them to meet my precious little guy. I love that we have been through so many stages together, from pre-teen camp to adulthood and now motherhood.

Hunter hopes your Easter was as blessed as his was. He also loves comments (so does his mommy!)

Praise the LORD! He is risen!!!

12 weeks.

Hunter is now 12 weeks old! He is a true joy! He is the happiest kid. We are so blessed. He smiles and laughs all the time. His hands are always moving. He has just become a big old chatterbox lately. He is holding his head up really well. He has been sleeping through the night for about 2 weeks now. He is a sleeper like his Momma! Somedays, he will sleep most of the day and through the night. He weighs about 11 1/2 lbs. We are just in love with our little guy!

And the Grand Prize Goes To . . .

Before I returned to work, Jimmy and I had a moment that might have possible won the grand prize on America's Funniest Home Videos. I was trying to get my pump to work, equipped with the hands-free piece and frustrated out of my mind. Jimmy picked up Hunter and realized he was a little stinky. Well, a few minutes later, I hear Jimmy, "Kristen, can you come here for a second?" I disassemble and go into the nursery. Jimmy is holding Hunter up, diaper half on. Hunter has had his first explosive poop! I quickly realized that wipes were not going to work and we moved to the bathtub. Hunter has poop all the way to the tips of his toes. I grab a washcloth, turn the tub on and stick his tiny rear end in the water to get some of the mess off. Jimmy has to help me get Hunter's shirt off. We then realize that he has poop up to his shoulder blades. So, I have Hunter straddled over the edge of the tub (still wearing my pumping equipment) and Jimmy at this point tries to leave the bathroom. Well, he realized he couldn't and instead headed straight to the toilet and started dry heaving. I am laughing hysterically looking at the entire picture: Mom in her pumping gear, naked baby straddling the edge of the tub covered in poop, and Dad with his head over the toilet. It's too bad we didn't have a camera ready because we might have won the grand prize! The joys of parenthood!
